Like it very much. I think their is a pretty main-stream use here for Investor Relations professionals targeting financial bloggers as well. Nice review!

Thanks, Zack. I'm sure it will be a boon to those reaching out to financial bloggers. Let us know if you try it out.

BuzzStream is definitely positioning the service as a linkbuilding tool and not a contacts relation tool, though I can definitely see why one might consider the service a media and blogger outreach tool first and foremost. It should be interesting to see how this works in an agency setting and it's sweet to get involved in a Beta test -- thanks for passing the opportunity along.

We have two products - 'BuzzStream for PR and Social Media' and 'BuzzStream for Link Building'. The thing that ties the two together is the need to conduct outreach that's relevant, personalized and relationship-based.

Thanks for the comment. I think you're referring to their linkbuilding product. This one is new and separate, thought the interfaces and the principle remains the same ... manage relevant contacts to build relationships, whether they are links or media/blogger contacts. Try it out and report back. We'd love to know what you think about it.

Ah, I see - didn't notice there were two separate services. I clicked the "beta invite form" link on your blog and just went where it took me, which must have been on the linkbuilding side of things, not the BuzzStream for PR and Social media. Fratz! I hope it's not to late to get on the Beta for the BuzzStream PR/Social Media do-hickey.

Thanks for the opportunity to try this out, Jason. I'm exploring it now. Interested to see how the workflow compares to that of Radian6 and other contact management services.

My pleasure, Dave. Paul May is the man to thank, though. Let us know how you like/dislike it. I found it pretty damn useful right out of the gate.

Jason, thanks for the thoughtful post. You really captured the essence of what we're working on at BuzzStream! As a blog that we look to for best practices on social media marketing and blogger relations, it's particularly gratifying to read this on Social Media Explorer.

If you're at the IABC Conference and you're interested in learning more about what we're working on, I'll be there this afternoon. I'll be around the lobby and in the exhibit hall, so just come grab me. You can also reach me by e-mail or twitter. There's a picture of me on the BuzzStream website along with my contact info.

Thank you, Paul. The service is very useful. Hope this post helps as our SME readers dive in and give you good feedback on the tool. We're very thankful for the trial runs. And I will find you today!

Thanks for pointing me to this software and for the beta invite. Just downloaded and started playing with it. Very nice and I can certainly see how this could become a valuable web-based CRM tool for our outreach efforts.

While waiting to speak at IABC today i asked attendees who they found most helpful and your name was one of the 4 most frequently mentioned. Now, here I can see why. Kudos

Jason-- Great post. This product is a good one, intuitive, even. However, it reminds me very much of some of the high end products Vocus puts out that allows you to have advanced logs of everything you've done and said with a particular media contact. It seems that Buzz stream is good when you are developing a list organically yourself, but not when you are sending out huge volumes to new lists all the time. Still, I find it encouraging that it's available and doesn't cost a fortune. It's a very good alternative for those of us who don't have six figures to spend on media databases. You can get some of those high end tools for less, even if you have to work a little harder for it.

This is a bit off subject, but I would love to know what you think about this...I recently saw a demo of Google Wave, an incredible new tool that puts all our communications platforms together into one organic program. It's really quite remarkable. Google unveiled it to 4,000 different developers, in hopes they will create some apps for it before it is released to the public later this year. I think it could potentially kill off some of the social media platforms. At the very least, I think it could change how we communicate with our contacts. What do you think of it? Google has an extensive site showing the developer preview. Check it out...http://wave.google.com
